American Flags That Are Actually Made in America

The 4th of July is just around the corner and every year we can't believe how many American flags and other items with the American flag on it - are NOT made in the USA.  It just seems ironic to us that America's greatest symbol of freedom could ever be manufactured in a communist country. Yet, over $3.6 million worth of American flags are imported from China each year.  In the past months there has been renewed resolve based on national security for Americans to buy Made in the USA. We hope this sentiment doesn't fall by the wayside.  We know it can be somewhat overwhelming to change your buying habits, so just start with the basics - like the American flag.  Whether its a flag on your porch, bunting on your house or a stick flag at a parade- here are several companies that manufacture high quality flags right here in the Land of the Free!

Annin Flagmakers is a 6th generation owned company in business since 1847.  Headquartered in Roseland, New Jersey, they operate 3 factories employing over 500 Americans.  Their flags have been a part of many historical events as depicted so beautifully on their website including the inauguration of President Abraham Lincoln and the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.

Valley Forge was founded in 1882 and is still a family run business. Headquartered in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and employing over 300 Americans, Valley Forge Flag manufactures and distributes its products from state of the art facilities throughout South Carolina.  Just like Annin, Valley Forge also has a storied history.  They have draped the coffins of many Presidents and joined the Annin flags on the Apollo 11 mission.  "Sewn into every stripe is the heritage of protecting freedom. Stitched into every seam is the pride to honor the brave. Embroidered into every star is the idea to explore the unknown".

Eder Flag based in Oak Creek, Wisconsin was originally launched as Eder Manufacturing Co. in 1887 by seven brothers from the Eder family, the company focused on making pillows, felt pennants, rag dolls and hunting jackets. From those humble beginnings, the flag-making business was launched and incorporated in 1903.  Eder Flag has transitioned into an employee owned company ensuring its location in the Milwaukee area and maintaining a loyalty to the employees who helped build Eder Flag.
